For connections to the distribution network and to the meter it is necessary to use meter valves which guarantee the interception of the fuel fluid and the isolation of the system from the network.
Made with a closing ball, these
meter valves conform to EN331 which defines all criteria for designing and testing these articles. Not only, the standard also defines the marking and minimal instructions to be provided for their installation and usage.
The minimum data which must be reported on the meter valves consists of: the mark or the name of the manufacturer, the nominal DN size, the class of maximum operating pressure also called MOP, if necessary the direction of flow that must pass through the valve must also be indicated and finally, at least the year of production, which can also be written using a conventional code.
Meter valves must also be accompanied, according to law, by a booklet written in the language of the country where they will be sold and which shows the important information concerning: how to install the product, its use and any operating maintenance required during its useful life, if necessary the installation position for a proper use must also be reported, and last but not least its maximum and minimum temperatures of use and above all its maximum pressure of use.
